2. A breath taking scenic view is as much a part of a holiday as sending a postcard. The Stratosphere Tower does not disappoint. Located at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino, this tower is considered to be the highest freestanding observation platform in the United States. If you want to fully appreciate the beauty and majesty of the Vegas strip, then a trip up the 113-floor Stratosphere Tower is a necessity. It does not end there, as the hotel also has the highest restaurants and clubs in Las Vegas.
3. Take a day trip to the Hoover Dam. Located in the Black Canyon, this massive feat of human engineering is just a short ride from Las Vegas. The Hoover Dam is a National Historic Landmark, and it is considered one of the greatest engineering achievements of the 20th century. Built out of concrete, the dam stands roughly 750 feet above the raging Colorado River.
